Welcome to my blog!

I am 13 years old and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on January 26, 2018. I have two brothers, Sawyer who is 7 and Hunter who is 15. I am a competitive dancer and have been dancing since I was 3 years old, so basically I am just your average teenage girl (but 1/300 who just happened to be predisposed to T1D).

Why start a blog? Because I don’t want people to just know what diabetes is, I want them to understand it (BIG DIFFERENCE). This is a place where you can read about my new life, unfiltered and honest…the good the bad and the ugly!

Since my diagnosis I have heard the line “don’t worry it will get easier” A LOT  but it can sometimes make me feel bad because life with T1D can be so difficult. I often wish that someone would just say IT SUCKS, IT’S SO HARD or IT’S OK TO BE SCARED. I am the one who is going to tell you that!

My goal is to give others some insight and understanding into what people diagnosed with T1D are going through. Whether you are someone living this crazy life, a parent trying to get your child safely through each day, or someone who wants to understand the struggles of type 1 diabetes-this blog is for you!
